Recycled t-shirt yarn basket

Use some simple crochet techniques to make a squishy, flexible and tactile basket for your fave houseplant or to stash your stuff. Create a basket measuring approximately 15cm by 12cm.

Materials
• Around 30 metres of t-shirt yarn (Zpagetti by Hooked)
• 15mm crochet hook
• Pair of scissors

Basket pattern

Chain 5, close circle with ss

Row 1: ch2, 5dc into circle.  Join to ch2 with ss (total 6 stitches)

Row 2: ch2, dc in same st.  2dc in each stitch.  Join to ch2 with ss (total 12 stitches)

Row 3: ch 2, 2dc in next st, [1dc, 2dc] to end.  Join to ch2 with ss (total 18 stitches)

Row 4 – ch2, 1dc in each st to end. Join to ch2 with ss (total 18 stitches)

Rows 5-14 – repeat row 3

Finish off and tie in ends
